Sunflowers Homes For Independent Living At Bogushevsk Orphanage
Situated outside the walls of Bogushevsk Orphanage in north eastern Belarus, these former shells of houses have become homes for independent living for special-needs young adults. Sunflowers volunteers travelled to Belarus to begin the work of transforming the houses into comfortable homes. Working closely with the Director and staff of the Orphanage we have created homes which will offer independence and dignity to many special-needs young adults who will have the chance to lead full and active lives in the local community. The staff at Bogushevsk Orphanage have prepared the youngsters in the use of money, gardening, farming, dressmaking etc.. Scroll down for more photos of volunteers at work, and some of the young adults who are now living in the Sunflowers homes for independent living.
This project at Bogushevsk Orphanage was funded by the staff of Bank Of Ireland Dublin north, and The Belarussian Childrens' Fund. We thank them most sincerely for their wonderful fundraising efforts, without which, this project would not be possible.

We thank all the voluntary workers from Co. Galway & surrounding areas for giving up their time to travel to Belarus with our charity, and for the wonderful work they carried out at Bogushevsk Orphanage.
All this of course is only made possible through voluntary donations and your continued kindness. If you would like to make a donation you can do so at any time by clicking on the donate button. Thank You.
