Direct Aid

We source as much as possible in Belarus, as it is very costly to transport aid over such a long distance. This frees up finance to spend on practical aid in Belarus, but we do send out practical aid when necessary. Our volunteers deliver this aid personally to its intended destination.

Delivering new furniture to Bogushevsk Institution for mentally and physically challenged children. The Sunflowers Chernobyl Appeal was asked to help at this Institution in Northeastern Belarus where the units housing the children are being renovated. This Institution is home to over 260 children with various illnesses. The main need here was for furniture and beds as it was in very bad condition. We also offer direct aid to other Orphanages and Institutions in similar circumstances.

Direct aid; Delivering part of a consignment of aid to The Institute For Deaf Children in Pinsk, in the south west of Belarus. These sewing machines will help the girls to gain new skills for independent living
